I was all set in my mind to go off on a rant today about the Penn State stuff. We watched the students on the news last night protesting JoPa's firing and I felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't go to sleep because I was so upset about it. What has happened to our priorities when football is more important than protecting children?
But then I looked at my lists of posts from this past week and MAN. Have I been in a bad mood or WHAT? Some kind of funk. Katy is learning at church right now that no one likes whining and complaining. I should place my bottom in those little chairs and take a lesson myself.
So I'll be back tomorrow with something more positive. I've gotta figure out how to get out of this funk.

Being in Pittsburgh, the Penn State stuff is really big here. I feel really bad about it on two levels.
First, the fact that this was going on for such a long time suggests that QUITE A FEW people looked the other way. JoPaw and the university people are being held to a higher standard; but that is appropriate in my book.
Second, it is really sad that someone who has probably done a ton of good and had a legendary career is going out in disgrace because he didn't do enough---just the bare minimum.
It's not just a sad day for JoPaw. It's a sad day for humanity. This is worse than the OSU thing. That was only money.
I'm feeling your funk too (just in general). The PSU situation is sickening to say the least. I've been ranting here and there on Facebook throughout the day. I think there is more bad news to come, unfortunately. I'm trying to keep lots of prayers going for the victims & their families. And for all of the people involved with PSU who are not involved with the abuse that has occurred.
There are times when I should be sent to the time out chair too- LOL. For what it's worth, I didn't take your posts as whining- I took them as real concerns for your community & your children.
Now I need to go continue constructing a bubble where I can keep all my children for forever.
The Penn State tragedy has affected us all. I too have been consumed with it all day and I'm glad I read the indictment because it took away all of the sadness I might have felt for JoPa. I want them all gone - McQuery, the interim coach etc. - they need a clean sweep and while they are at it they should probably tear down that shower block.
You never whine Emily - you talk from the heart like we all do and if we ever put limitations on this then what's the point in blogging? Keep it real woman! x
