Falling Back is Hard to Do

Before I had kids, I used to love Falling Back. You either got an extra hour of sleep, or for those of us night owls, you got to stay up an hour later. But now, it's a different story. I still love daylight savings time, and the change is easier to deal with in the spring. But this Falling Back thing. All of the sudden your teething baby is waking up an hour earlier, he's up from morning nap at 9:25, and you have to come up with more interesting ways to entertain your toddler because it gets dark at stinkin' 5:30pm.

One positive note, though. Now that they've changed the Fall Back to November, at least we have snack size Snickers to help us cope. Happy End of Daylight Savings Time!

I've been lamenting this same thing for the last week. We've been putting Rachel to bed later and later every night this past week to get her used to staying up later, and hoping that she'd start sleeping later and later, too. Oh no, she's been waking up at her normal time, so we've already had a week of one more Rachel hour every night. This morning she was awake around 5:15. Ugh. I couldn't agree more.... Falling back is hard to do.

I just caught up on your Halloween posts. OH MY. Those costumes are first of all AWESOME and second SO DARN CUTE. And of course David's JCP pics are priceless. Is he really that happy in person too? I'm sounding like a broken record, but your children are ADORABLE.

Falling back is hard, but somehow it worked out painlessly for us this year. I think no longer having a true baby (sniff!) in the house helps. We kept the boys up a whole hour later last night by putting them in the bath tub at their normal bedtime. They slept in EXACTLY one extra hour this morning. Which leaves us at our regularly scheduled program.

I am SAD though about how dark it will be at 5pm tonight. BOO.
