Hot Diggity Dog!!

After being downright stressed about the possibility of extremely long voting lines, Brian and I had both voted by 8:15 this morning. (Hmmm...I'm noticing a pattern here, where I get stressed about something, but it turns out fine.) He got up and got to the polls at 6:30 when they opened, and he waited about an hour. Then he came home, where I had been showering and feeding the kids, and relieved me so I could go. I only waited 15 minutes (unbelievable compared to 5 hours during the last presidential election, and I lived in the same district!) and was home in no time. Brian wasn't even very late to work (although he might disagree, he and I have a different definition of "late.")

So how about you? What time did you go and how long did you wait? I'm excited to watch the results tonight...after I make a massive trip to the grocery that I've had planned since Saturday.

From Dad and Sue - mornings are the best. We arrived at 6 am and drove away at 7 am. When we left there were more than 100 people in line. I feel very patriotic right now. Are you going to redeem your "I VOTED" sticker for anything free? Several places here have voting rewards like a free cup of coffee or donut if you have your sticker.

I followed Brian's plan and arrived at the polls around 6:40am. I was on my way back home by 7:40. I'm in a new precinct this year and I never had to wait before. Taking an hour to vote was a little surprising, but not too bad. --Susan

Matt had to wait about 45 minutes this morning, but the kids and I went just after 11 and were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Whew!

You know, I don't have any idea how you voted (I feel like I could imagine reasons why you'd vote either way, you know?) but I LOVE that you're as excited about the election and as happy to vote as I am.

Our area was "redistricted" from 6 areas to 9 this year. We now get to vote at the community golf course, which is about 2 miles from the house through the plan.

I went at 8:20, and the line was out the door (about 50 people?). I stood for about 10 minutes making steady progress. Then a woman came back shouting, "Anybody in A-L?" That's me! I bypassed about 30 people and signed in. I voted and was out of there is less than 20 minutes.

This was better for me than last time mainly because the parking and traffic was easier than going to the community center.

(There was hardly any line when I left. I think it goes in spurts.)

Nathan went at 7:30 and had to wait 30 minutes. I went at 8:15 and didn't wait in line at all. I must have missed the "voting before work" crowd, thankfully!

It's great to read about all your experiences. Glad you didn't have to wait too long.

I went at 9:30 and was in and out in 35 minutes. We had to wait over an hour for the last presidential election, so I was pleased. My husband still has to go tonight....he is coming home early from work at 4:00, though, so hopefully he can miss the majority of the after work crowd.

Larry and I went to vote a little before 9 a.m. and there was only one person in line ahead of us. Andy voted late this afternoon and still no line. This afternoon we took advantage of the free chicken sandwich from Chic-fil-a.

Glad it went smoothly!

Brett voted early; he got to the polls at 5:20am. They opened at 6. He was 40th in line, and got through the process in 45 minutes. I left work to go at 10am, thinking that would be off-peak. It was okay; I waited 1 hour, in a line of approx 80-100 people. All in all: not bad at all.

I had no wait at all. Now when I tried to vote 3 times for early voting the lines were too long and I didn't have the time. But today, I just walked right in. Thank goodness too, my son would not have sat there any longer.

So glad your voting experience was a good one! We went around 11am and it took about 40 minutes total. Not bad at all :)

But I am bitter because my polling place did not offer a cool sticker :(

Jason and I waited about 1 1/2 hours! Better then 4 hours last time :)
