Two Little Peanuts

I scheduled Luke and Katy's well visits together, mainly because it's a 20 minute drive to the pediatrician, but when will I learn? It would have been fine without the shots, but it was no fun to try to manage that. Luke went first, and was still screaming when the nurse was wanting me to help with Katy. So I had to strap the poor boy into his stroller (thank goodness I brought Blankie), still crying, and then go over to hold Katy. I knew she would be nervous, but I did NOT anticipate having to physically restrain her while she fought with all her might, screaming "NO!!!!" It was awful, having to hold her there to endure something painful, even if it needs to be done, against her fight. I'm sure every parent has to do that at some point (hold them still for a scan or stitches or a cast or whatever). Luckily everyone was completely calm by the time we reached the lobby (suckers in hand). Shew!

But holy cow, what a couple of peanuts! Here are the stats:

Katy at 5 years:

Weight: 35 pounds - 15 %'ile

Height: 40" - 5 %'ile (both of these are actually higher measurements than we've gotten at home. the poor girl, it really bothers her to be short, but she might be destined to be the shortest in her class. :(  )

Luke at 1 year:

Weight: 19 pounds, 11 ounces - 10 %'ile  (can I just stop and remind you that this child was 9 pounds 11 ounces at BIRTH?!? Most babies double their birth weight in 6 months and triple it in a year, but he barely doubled it in a year)

Height: 29.25" - 30%'ile

Most importantly, of course, is that they are both healthy. I'm so thankful for that!

Hey, small and healthy certainly works! :-) Does David outweigh Katy? I'm sure Michael is right at 35 lbs (no wonder my back hurts!)
