a week's worth of tidbits

  • This is the only picture I took all week. And in taking it I was encouraging my toddler to destroy her baby brother's bouncy seat. *sigh*
  • It's official. David is a spitter-upper. If he weren't so huge I'd be wondering if he were getting any milk at all because he really seems to spit it all back up. He goes through about 3 outfits a day.
  • We made it to playgroup, the park, and even ran some errands this week. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of things. Just last night I picked up the stuff I need to start working again (I only do 4 or 5 hours a week from home), so we'll see if I'm able to squeeze that into our new routine.
  • One day as we were getting out of the van at the house, I took Katy to the porch to make sure she made it there safely before I went back to get David. (I swear I was on my way to get him). So just as Katy stepped on the porch, she pointed back to the van and said, "Get Dabid?" as if to say, "Mom, hello? Aren't you forgetting my little brother?"
  • Speaking of Big Sister stories, Katy is pretty cute. Sometimes when David fusses, Brian will tell Katy to go sing to him. She goes over to wherever he is and sings "Twinkle, Twinkle" followed by "Rock a Bye Baby" as she rocks his seat. And once in a while...it actually works. *tear*
  • David slept a 5 hours stretch last night. Now, I have enough experience as a mom not to expect this to be a pattern, but just to enjoy that it happened once and leave it at that. The only weird thing is that after he does a long stretch he likes to do a short one, like an hour and a half. You win some, you lose some.
  • We're having a little "situation" with our neighbors. They started renting the place in the fall, and we haven't heard from them all winter. But ever since the weather changed, they and about 10 of their friends are out on their porch whooping it up until...oh I don't know... FOUR AM EVERY NIGHT. Cordial conversations have been had, cops have been called, but it continues. It's not bothering the kids, so that's good, but it really need to stop. Otherwise, we're going to have to close the windows and turn on the AC unseasonably early.
  • And finally, Brian and I have decided that it's time to shape up again. The baby weight must come off, and Weight Watchers is the way it happens. So come Monday, there's a new menu in the house...

WOW, what a week. You're my hero! First, Jack spat up for the first 3 months of life. Gross but not harmful, so don't worry on that front. Katy singing to David is SO CUTE. How annoying on the neighbor front. When is their lease up?

Good luck with WW! You'll have to keep us posted on your progress.

We've got some annoying neighbors too. This is where Nathan's occupation comes in handy!

Aren't "older" siblings great?! Ellie sings to Emmy every time she cries and Emmy will stop, listen, and clap her chubby hands. Jacob also likes to carry her around when she's upset...it is so cute to see her wrap her arms and legs around her big brother, although she may just be clinging on for dear life!

Have a great weekend!

Oh, terrible about the neighbors. We've had neighbors like that in the past (with baby Calum) and it was NOT FUN. I hate confrontation, like most people, but when I finally got up the nerve to face them and they didn't listen. Whoo boy! I was MAD.

Also, sorry I didn't comment before, but I LOVE the new blog name. SO cute! Just like your kiddos. They are totally adorable.

Did Katy get a haircut? Her hair looks shorter.
