Irony

Katy got a set of Goldilocks hand puppets from her aunt and uncle for Christmas. Last night we had read and played out the story with the puppets right before bed, and she wanted to take Goldilocks to bed with her. She tucked her in under the blanket (with her face out so she could breath) and slept soundly next to the 8" piece of felt.
Tonight Brian put Katy to bed, completing the usual routine. He turned off the light and closed the door. After he left, Katy turned over and spotted the puppet in bed with her. She apparently didn't remember what it was, and started shrieking in terror loud enough to send Brian running back into the room. When he asked, "Katy, what is the matter?," she replied:
"Someone is sleeping in my bed!!!"

Oh now that IS funny... and ironic. Considerably more ironic than 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife.

James - just this morning I was thinking, "I hope I used the term 'Irony' correctly and that people won't end up making fun of me like they make fun of Alanis."

I think I'd wake up screaming if I found a girl's face on my pillow at night too. Bit like the "Clown from It" we were all so scared of as kids we didn't want clowns in our bedrooms!
Jack is the same with his monkey, George. Sometimes he cuddles up, but sometimes George scares the crap out of him!

I really do think that's the best kid story of all time! Send it into Reader's Digest and make some money, you money-saving mom! Seriously, you should...

Oh my gosh. I just read this story to Greg and he said to tell you send it in to Reader's Digest and make some money.
I see Stephanie agrees!
