Dancing with Toddlers

We haven't listened to our Ralph's World CD in a while, so today we pulled it out. While Mom was taking a shower, Aunt Mel taught Katy what it truly means to "dance around the room," which reinforced Katy's new interest in actions songs from storytime. This was too cute for Brian to pass up...

And today she's 19 months on the 19th. Does that count as a golden birthday?

This is great! Brian explained this to me on our way to Men's group last night, but this is way more than I expected!

Awww! Emily, she is so cute I just want to squeeze her. Please tell me you kiss those awesome cheeks at least once an hour.

Also, I wanted to give some serious sympathy to your sister. When I was living with my friend Tracy (another UD housemate) after college, our house got broken into and things strewn everywhere. All our jewelry, music, electronics-- gone. He even rifled through our underwear drawers. CREEPY! And, especially scary was the fact that he kicked our back door TOTALLY OFF THE HINGES to get inside. I am so glad we weren't home at the time.

Anyway, he had stolen Brett's cell phone also. A few weeks later, we got a call that they had arrested him & he had B's cell phone so they suspected it was the same guy. Turns out he was a coke addict from a few blocks over. Me & Tracy had to appear in court over it, and we saw him. He had a 7-year-old daughter who was there with her Mom. The whole experience was just mind-boggling. I was mad and scared and totally sad for him.

I don't know what I'm expecting to impart by leaving this comment. But I guess a little, "oh honey, I know how you feel," to your sister. Give her a big hug from me. Life does go back to normal after a while.

Harper watched this this morning and the first thing out of her mouth was, "Oh look! Katy's growing up!"

How cute is that! Emmaline was "dancing" while we watched it and Jacob now wants the cd. He also commented, "Katy is a cute dancer." It's so great that we can "share" our kids even though we don't get to visit often. Hope you're feeling well!

Aunt Mel has some awesome dance moves of her own. Katy has a great teacher!

She is an amazing child. But Oma already knew that! :-)

Glad to hear Mel's okay. If she needs help making her appartment more "intruder-proof", give us a call and we'll try and help.
Katy's movie was lovely - she's such a character.
