Welcome to...

Luke Brian
6/23/10
3:24 pm
9 lbs. 11 oz.
21.5 inches

We are so thrilled to finally introduce the newest addition to our clan, even if he had to be evicted to get him here. We'll be coming home from the hospital tomorrow, where Katy and David are very anxiously waiting their new baby brother. Luke's arrival into this world has been, once again, a unique experience that could include a few key phrases such as:
*4 cm to 10 cm in 2 hours
*nearly 10 pounds - pushed out in One. Contraction.
*difficult and scary results of such a quick and large delivery lead to a challenging 24 hours.
But more on that to come. For now I'm thankful to be blessed with those three healthy children, and I'm looking forward to our time of adjustment to being a family of five. Please pray that Luke and I make some progress in the nursing arena, because it hasn't come as naturally to him as it did for his brother.

He's gorgeous! Love those cheeks! I can't wait to meet him (and hear more about your delivery--so did Dr. O deliver him? I was just at her office today and thought of you.) I hope your recovery gets easier.

He's lovely and those cheeks!!! Very kissable. We can't wait to meet him. You are such a trooper and I can't wait to hear all about it (us women do like the details!) Take care of yourself. X

He is ADORABLE! Love those cheeks! And of course the first All 3 Sibs photo! Such cute little shirts you have D&K in.
I'll keep praying for all of you, Em. Am AMAZED at the delivery highlights and can't wait for more detail. I will especially pray that Luke gets the hang of the eating thing - am sure once he figures it out he'll take after his bro and looooove it!

He's beautiful!!!

Thinking of David as 'big' anything is funny. Everything is relative, I guess. :-)

Kisses to all from Oma!

Oh, I love him!!! A gorgeous baby boy! I am imagining what you have gone through (had a friend with a similar birth experience). Prayers for you all as you transition home... you know it will be crazy but wonderful :)

I am hoping you are not recovering from the same thing I had to after I had my big baby (although he was only 9lbs6oz...not quite as big as Luke). I can't even imagine doing it with other kids around. But, again, hopefully you aren't in the same boat. If you think you are, feel free to e-mail me for some sympathy and reassurance (I'll just say I had as many stitches as a c-section...internal and external...but not on my belly). Wow...way TMI for a comment in a blog.

Also, my big baby was my worst nurser. I think he just had some fat to work off...also the pain meds they gave me for my...ahem...made him very groggy and unable to stay awake. We used to joke that Andrew would go to preschool and when snack time came he would have to strip down and put cold washclothes on himself in order to stay away to eat. Poor guy.

Hang in there! Thinking of you!

So excited about Luke's arrival and am choked up at the photo of your THREE children together. I hope you are healing quickly Em and that the nursing is getting easier. Still saying lots of prayers as you transition to a family of five.
